Productivity and long working hours-Part 2

Understanding how Long Working Hours are made glamorous

Billionaires claim to work 120 hours a week due to their impeccable work ethic, drive to change the world, and commitment to focusing on what matters most. That equates to almost 18 hours of work every day. Every waking hour they work. They claim to use a method called time boxing which helps them prioritize tasks and surround themselves with great people to maximize productivity. This is how Long Working Hours are made glamorous often urging people to ignore their personal well-being.

However, this management strategy of rallying employees around a lofty company mission or goal with intensity and demanding hardcore hours from employees is counterproductive for employees’ families.

While these methods can be exhausting, employees may believe that anyone working for long hours is the best of the best. But this focus on company success over individual well-being has led to a culture of long hours and unpaid overtime. Employees work long hours hoping to climb the corporate ladder, sometimes over 24 hours, without breaks and late into the night, resulting in health issues and even death.
